Bettie Ransted
Bettie Ransted is a slight woman who wears black throughout the year, a constant reminder of her grief and loss. Her husband Malcolm Ransted passed away some years ago under mysterious circumstances and dear Bettie has taken it rather hard. She believes that she can still see him and talk to him at times, though if noticed, she will quickly say this is how she copes.
Mrs. Ransted tends to be self-deprecating, taking the blame for the dilapidated shape of her home, the Ransted Estate. She has been spotted at dusk standing on the porch, pleading to thin air. When she's not at home, she is at one of the two churches praying for her dear husband to find peace and for his fate to be revealed to her. Reverend Morris Behart was quick to dismiss Mrs. Ransted's theories about her husband's death those several years ago. This quite frankly rude dismissal of her ideas has made Mrs. Ransted spend increasing amounts of time in the Universalist Church with Daisy Clevenger discussing the local legends of Munson.
This knowledge of both religion and the occult would be good for the inquiring investigator to seek out Mrs. Ransted for. Also Mrs. Ransted was very involved in the investigation of her husband's death, as shallow as it was, so she has some experience in that area.
