Rhodri ap Gruffudd
Fourth son of Gruffudd ap Llywelyn Fawr and brother to Owain Goch ap Gruffudd , Llywelyn ap Gruffudd , and Dafydd ap Gruffudd .
Youngest of the Brothers of Gwynedd. Was reportedly present at the Battle of Bryn Derwin in an attempt to stake a claim for his birthright and a division of the land of Gwynedd Uwch-Conwy. Was unsuccessful in this attempt and shortly thereafter resigned his claim to lands in Gwynedd and threw his lot in with Henry III and Edward I of England. Inherited estates in England, which were passed to his descendant Rhys ap Thomas - a later famed English knight.
