Communication board

While many people in Raro will wear nyai for various purposes, a common purpose is to facilitate nonverbal communication. These pages will often consist of rows of squares with each square containing a basic symbol or set of symbols to illustrate a common action or meaning, such as "dislike" or "start" or "happy". Because these do not often change, they are often covered in nyai paste to make them last longer.
