Feather-telling wax

In Raro, thick feathers obtained from Rarites can be used for fortune telling. Feather-telling wax is kept in blocks about the size of an adult Rarite foot and pieces are cut off and melted for use in fortune-telling. Feathers (provided by the quester, even if they are not the quester's own) are dipped in wax and the quester grasps the feather while the wax dries. Once the wax has roughly taken shape, the quester lets go of the feather and the shape left behind is read by the diviner.
Feather-telling wax comes in many colors, sometimes marbled, but it is well-known that for the most serious readings one must clear wax, so the diviner can ignore the effects of the wax and focus entirely on the shape left behind.
