As humans tried to build greater cities and infrastructure, there was an age of war for dominance between humanity and the dragons.

As humans built cities, they also built more attractive targets for the dragons to go to to feed. In all the places where humans had started gathering in cities, more and more defences were invented against the creatures. After a while this defence became aggression until dragons were hunted more and more effectively. The high dwarves even helped humans in systematically driving dragons into the West of Auchorica. Here they still remain more or less. There's rarely a dragon seen anywhere far from Dragon's Rest, though there are reports of draconic creatures on Arthos. This is well recognised as the first global human cooperation, even if it was all arranged indirectly through Hyghlynn.
