Archmage Archon
Who am I? I could take every day from now until the next age and it still wouldn't be enough time! Just know that I am an Archmage for a reason, and I have more power than most mages could comprehend. I also know more pranks than anyone!
Known History
Archmage Archon is a man with more mysteries and questions than answers. There are a few things that are known about him, however. Archon came from somewhere within the area once known as the Celestial Civilization. He grew up with an incredible thirst for knowledge, and that propelled him into his studies on the ancient world. No one knows where he attended schooling, but it's accepted that he had some form of schooling. After many years of studying the ancient world, no one is sure how long, he eventually settled down in Archon's Tower, and that is where he has more or less stayed for the past 40 or so years.
Archon is easily the best teacher, as a blacksmith I was doubting how well a wizard could teach a blacksmith about his craft. He taught me how to infuse Sol into my smithing, and now I'm one of the most renowned blacksmiths in the land. I have Archon to thank for all of this prosperity, and I would recommend anyone get an education from him.
Appearance
Archon appears to be an old man with long-ish white hair, blue eyes, glasses, a somewhat long but trimmed beard, and is a tall person. He has somewhat tanned skin, and is almost always wearing a cloak combined with robes of assorted colors. His pockets can always be seen stuffed with scrolls and potion ingredients, and he's always carrying some form of scroll and can be heard muttering about the information on it, or about a new alchemical concoction. His voice is deep and can fill a room, and his eyes always seem to have a hint of mystery and wonder. He seems somewhat intimidating at a first glance to most people, but once they talk to him the things that make him seem scary turn into quirks and charms. Overall, Archon is an incredibly mysterious man, and his appearance certainly helps lend to this.
Aye, Archmage Archon is quite the enigma. There's references to man with the same name and appearance in texts from over five hundred years ago, and as far as anyone has known he's always had the title of Archmage. But no one can live for over five hundred years, none but The Druids at least.
Actual History
While the denizens of Mystere think they know Archon, they most certainly do not. Archon was born in the year 1E 3 to a poor family of farmers. As a boy, he was fascinated with magic and the rising civilization of Celestia. As he grew older, a wandering Druid recognized that Archon had extraordinary magical capabilities, and offered his family a constantly fertile field and faster growing crops if they allowed him to teach their son. Archon's family agreed, and for 15 long years he studied under the Druid. The Druid decided to take Archon to see the World Tree, where Archon unlocked the secrets to Druidcraft, and a little bit more. Archon studied at the World Tree with master Druids for an additional 20 years, after which he was considered to be an Archdruid1, and was told he could wander the world as he pleased, and that all druids would recognize him as an authority.
He traveled back home, to see his aging mother and father, and stayed there for a short while. After this he traveled the ancient civilizations of Celestia, Sol, and Luna for several hundred years, until he stumbled across an ancient library deep within the Sol Forge machine. Within this library, he found knowledge of all skills and magics, and places to practice. After spending almost one thousand years within the library (though it felt more like a year to Archon) he emerged, to find everything in ruins. He traveled more, wanting to unravel just what happened to the ancient civilizations. After wandering for a hundred or so years, he found another library deep within an ancient Luna shrine. Here he found a full history of the world, akin to what is carved into the World Tree, and there he studied for another century. He learned of what had happened to the ancient civilizations, but not of the Druids. He set out travelling again, this time to the World Tree. After speaking to the Whispering Woods and reading the history carved into the World Tree, he sought out the druid's library. Once there, he spent another several hundred years studying and mastering his magic. During his travels and studying, he had also become Sol and Luna touched.
At this point he emerged from seclusion, almost 1500 years after the fall of the civilizations, and became known to the world as Archmage Archon. Over the course of the past 500 years he has devoted his studies to the ancient magical constructs that the Celestia, Sol, and Luna civilizations used to thrive, and in the past 40 years has devoted himself to teaching students.
