The Silver Tower
Ah, The Silver Tower! It is quite a sight, my son, rarely seen by any of us born on the outer edges of the country, but never forgotten! It's beauty and light is a marvel to behold, and a testament to the spirit of the builders in Harach. How that spire stays up, I will never know. And made out of magical moonstone, too! It must have cost a fortune to build!
Farmer Spriggot, clan leader near the endless wastes.
Purpose / Function
The Silver Tower is the home of the Queen of Shalden, and the seat of government for the whole country. It is also the headquarters of the Sisters of The Moon, and the official temple of Vi-Serin.
Alterations
The central tower has been continuously built up higher and higher over the generations by various priestesses of Vi-Serin until reaching its current height.
Architecture
The bulk of the castle is built out of moonstone, a silvery rock said to have fallen from the sky in ages past, with simpler wooden walls and thatched roofs towards the outer edges of the circles, matching the original architecture of Harach. The tower itself is completely built out of moonstone and polished to such an extent that it reflects the moon's light for miles around, lighting up the area as if it were daytime. There are several concentric circles radiating out from the center tower, each circle a lower level than the last, with the thin tower reaching high into the heavens from the center.
History
Construction was begun on the Silver Tower twenty years after Harach was established as the capital of Shalden. It was begun at the behest of the original Lady of Shalden before her death, and only completed towards the end of the next Lady's reign. Throughout its history, various priestesses called for the tower to reach further towards the moon's light, with the last bit of construction on the tower completed about 100 years ago.
