Hermes´ Feather and scroll
Even though Hermes is said to be fast, the fastest, he has supposedly gotten tired of running from one god to the next to deliver their messages:
I´m not a f***ing dog.You say go here, go there, tell him that, tell her she´s hot...do it yourself. It was just annoying, so I talked to Hephaistos and we came up with something. Only took us a couple centuries. So he developed a magical quill and papyrus. It is said that now every god has a set of these and Hermes still has a few extra. These scrolls and quills are all magically tethered to each other so you can send messages from one to the other. To make sure the message arrives at the correct paper you have to write down the full and correct name of the person you want to send a message to. If you do not write a name down before beginning to write, your message appears on every scroll.
The beginning was tough - Zeus sent some very specific messages into the world that nobody really wanted to read and Hera was not amused by most of them. It was a mess, but at least I can now talk to Persephone when she stays at her mothers house. When a message arrives at the intended scroll, the quill starts writing it down by itself. The message stays on the scroll for 24 hours and then disappears in the void forever, unless the recipient starts writing a new message, then the received message disappears instantly. Hermes is quite pleased with himself and now has a lot more time to spare.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Hermes called in a few favors, and worked together with Hephaistos to tether a whimsical net between the scrolls and quills. How exactly it works only Hephaistos knows and he is probably not going to share his secret.
Significance
This tool was significant for the gods, not so much to the mortals. Hermes did not distribute amongst them

I really like the idea - both of the artifact idea (clever!) and the style you've written it in. I can definitely understand Hermes frustration. :D Has any of them ever gotten lost among mortals for extra fun?
Creator of Araea, Megacorpolis, and many others.
Not yet, but I am sure my players will find a way to get their hand on one and create chaos among the gods
