Lake Lerna
After days of travelling through the forest, our bags heavy on our backs, we came upon this lake. The water was crystal clear, the beach was as white as snow. We couldn´t believe we found a place so beautiful that looked to be untouched by human hand. Certainly it must have been a place for the gods. We decided to set up camp there for the night, we filled our waterskins with the cold water and sat down to rest. After a short while all of us felt this unease, like a hand creeping up your spine...like death grabbing for your soul. Our camp was never before or after packed up so fast. Many reports like these exists around Laker Lerna. Everyone who comes by reports of the incomparable beauty of the place and the creeping unease that follows this view. The lake is supposedly drenched in a serene silence. There are a few villages not too far from the lake, but none of the citizens ever wander there.
Geography
This mythical lake sits right in the center of Peleponnes in the middle of a forest. It is said to hold the only worldy entry way to the underworld. The lake almost looks out of place in the forest it is situated in, like it was put there by someone rather than coming into being naturally. The forest surrounding it is stretched over most of the peninsula and rolls over several hill and up several mountainsides, including the Mount Killiny, which is said to be the birthplace of Hermes.
Fauna & Flora
The lake itself seams to be void of any fauna or flora, the forest seems to keep a distance from the waters, giving it space for the beach, but still giving the perfect amount of shade at any time of day. This void of any living thing in and around the lake gives it even more of an "out of place" feeling.
History
The lake is featured in several tales, most prominent the tale of a young girl trying to rescue her brother from the underworld and the tale of Hercules fighting and defeating the Hydra at this lake.

Oh nice idea to have a lake be the entrance to the underworld. Cool how you linked your myth to it that way. I think the general layout of your article is pretty neat and it is nice how you started with a small story to set the mood!
Thanks, things you learn when reading loads of other articles :)
Indeed I learned it from other articles as well :p quotes are nice things ^^
