A former criminal she has found her way to Athena, and shortly thereafter Hephaestus. Sole child of an Engineer mother and unemployed father -- disabled after the war. She is able to use disguise self at will and can see in darkness, even magical darkness. She has a familiar (Athene noctua) that offer companionship and perception of the surrounding area, but as an owl is not afraid to come to aid in battle. She has a spell book, currently also housing Alarm to make night time sleeps a little safer.

Personal history

Lasthena is an illegitimate birth, their parents were unmarried. She was birthed in a cave. She is the only Child. Epicydes her father does not work, he was once grievously wounded on campaign and received a foot injury causing him to walk with a limp. Her mother Damaris is an engineer, she is a a designer and constructor of mechanical devices. Lasthena comes from an urban background. Female engineer, and out of work father formed the backdrop of Lasthena's loose morals when it came to acquiring funds. She was able to help the family, but mainly it kept her in funds to have a lifestyle above her station. She was able to secure tutelage in basic ritual magic, and enjoys the companionship of a familiar as a result, and feels secure in being able to set alarms before sleep, especially for those times when she does not have a crew (or later a party to depend upon). In her adolescence the followers of an unheard-of-god from another land had followed omens that lead them to the Lasthena. Their omens indicate that the character is to be the mate of an avatar - earthly incarnation - of their god. This is not something Lasthena is down with, and being still harassed by these followers she has taken to adventuring life in hopes of avoiding this fate until she's of an age where child bearing would no longer be possible. It keeps her on the move, but it is an exciting and interesting life.
Lasthena feels that the only way to counter the desires of a god is with the aid of another god, and Athena has accepted her into her flock. As a virgin Lasthena finds herself somewhat comforted. Lasthena chose to put her criminal past behind her, a confidence woman swindling those gullible or desperate enough she comes from abnormal background to be a Paladin, but as a result she knows first hand that people are not their past, and so when it came to swearing her Oath, the Oath of Redemption was a good fit. Lasthena can still be fast and loose with the truth, but she uses such for mostly goodly ends, and is contrite when a more base motivation takes hold. She is a fair to good warrior, but old habits die hard and if there is beyond her, or simply triggers that I'm going to die her impulse will be to beat feet and run. Athena has not chosen a daft initiate. Hephaestus maker of most magic items has also made a synergistic compact with her.
