Bard - The Mage Class that moved to Expert

We have reworked Bard in Mythical Poems of Narfold to allow for a new choice of character that is a party buffer using their instruments, dancing, singing or even non-vocal performance. This article outlines the NEW features you can look forward to if you select bard as your class.
This change also outlines the above loss of full caster status and they are now a half caster, similar to a Paladin or Ranger in that they only get up to 5th level spell slots. The spells you would get from being a higher level Bard are now going to be available to the class with Magical Secrets, outlined below.

Performances

The learned at first level and again unlocking more as you progress into the class the Performances are a special feature unique to the Bard Rework.
These are special buffs or abilities that allow you to spend an action to have your character start performing. Methods of performing can be catered to how your character wishes to express their magical power, including dances, throat singing or interpretative verses.
Once started you will be able to keep performing until the action is halted by being incapacitated or stopping (similar to ending held concentration).

Magical Secrets

The final change and also the main rework effect to the character is the loss of full casters spell slots. The above chart shows the spell slot progression in the class features picture.
Because this rework takes spell slots away the Bard will be given back additional "Free" spells a short rest which starting at 3rd level they can gain this free spell from any class.

* Note: When you gain your first level in the variant bard class, you do not gain the following bard class features:
• Jack of All Trades
• Song of Rest
• Countercharm
• Magical Secrets
You instead gain the following features at the levels shown in the Variant Bard table.
The reworked bard does not include a magical secrets, we've added this to make sure the bard spells and magical secrets effects are usable earlier and grant new functionality of making bards a "jack of all trades" kind of spell caster.
