Pyrrha
Grc: Πύρρα - En: Pyrrha
Pyrrha Kreonides
Our heroine and narrator. Pyrrha describes herself as prudent compared to the impulsiveness of Lykomedes , but events prove her to be every bit as capable of being impulsive. Her temper is a manifestation of her heritage as a descendant of the Spartoi , the legendary race of dragon-born warriors who sprang from the ground when Kadmos founded the city of Thebai. The spawn of the Spartoi have grown complacent over many generations, and mostly suppress their true nature, but Pyrrha and her brother, Lykomedes, are notable throwbacks to earlier days of blood and glory.
Pyrrha's family is Theban nobility, as most Spartoi are. She's been conditioned by her mother to expect an arranged marriage into a royal house as her only upward path. When we see her at age 10, she takes for granted her fate as a future princess. At age 14, we see her rebelling in the wake of her sister Megara's unfortunate experience with marriage. As the main action of Book 1 starts, Pyrrha is adrift, unsure of her future or what she wants to be her role in society.

Show spoiler
Pyrrha experiences an epiphany at age 10, when she runs into [spoiler]Persephone and her own future 14-year-old self atop a hill in her father's estate. Over time, she dismisses this as imagination until the events of Book 1, where she encounters numerous daimones over the course of a day that might be her last.
Social Aptitude
Stubbornly resistant to the refining lessons of Eurydike, Pyrrha is capable of causing great offense without intent, but is also surprisingly natural at public speaking, where her passion becomes infectious.
Speech
Highly articulate, but often has to fight against harsh impulses in order to stay polite.
Relationships
History
Pyrrha and Lykomedes shared adventures in their younger childhood, with Pyrrha as the voice of reason to Lykomedes more wild impulses. They grew apart as Lykomedes's warrior training took him away from Pyrrha's domestic work, and they spent less time together and had less in common.
Alignment
Neutral Good, goes all in when persuaded into naughtiness but feels strong twangs of conscience, known to break the rules but will fight to preserve the system she knows.
