The Black Reapers are a pirate clan located in the northeastern corner of The Nassa Archipelago. They are lead by a single, mysterious individual known by their place in the line of succession. For example, the current leader is The Ninth Reaper. This individual's identity is kept secret from all except the most high-ranking members of the clan known as The Circle. The Black Reapers are the undisputed dominant power in Nassa, especially following their recent victories.

Reputation of Violence

Merciless and efficient, the Black Reapers are known for their violent raids on passing ships, whether they are merchants or enemy pirates. They leave none alive and pick the ships they capture clean before either adding them to their fleet or setting them ablaze. Because of this, their flag is a symbol of fear across Mytkora. Even some Athelesian admirals have been reported fleeing the sight of a Black Reaper ship.

Life Under the Reaper Flag

The Black Reapers understand the value of a grateful commoners. They have been steadily importing new technologies from The Republic of Tekoril over the past two decades, causing their primary city of Griffik to have access to a high quality of life, such as plumbing and water treatment. In addition, they only enforce light taxes on property and require simple tariffs on imports. These policies are generally supported by the people, especially since their ships can display the Reaper Flag. This protection is respected by the other factions, allowing merchants to sail freely.

Recent Victories

Led by the Ninth Reaper, the clan has recently seized control of the world's first flying ship, The Winds of Tomorrow. With this, they have managed to establish naval superiority over the entire Dread Sea. This directly contributed to their slowly expanding borders and eventual recovery of the first powerful fragment of the gods' power, a Fragment of Itherea. The other clans fear what this power will provide for the Black Reapers, but all know they will surely grow in their ambitions soon.
