Astral Aethrin: The Githyanki are a race evolved from the shapechanging Aethri and invested with an affinity for the realm between realms. Originally they venerated an inaethri named Gith who sacrificed themselves to help their people escape from
Vrokíva's Brume by exiling them to the Astral Plane in 19,104 BAI (an event they simply call "The Exodus"). There they remained for tens of thousands of years, cultivating communities and civilizations of their own long after their Inaethri patron was destroyed. The Gith are innately physically talented, blending a mastery of mentalism (a necessary trait for navigating the often treacherous Astral Sea) with a skill at arms honed from countless battles against the endless predatory threats of their domain. A few Githyanki have found their way back to the material plane over the millenia, either as emissaries to their people or as refugees seeking the stability of
Gylidd Syn Aethri to make new lives for themselves. Those who remain in Gylidd have several communities, and the most well-known of these is the Githyaddan Enclave in sylvan
Hynfaol, under the protection of the ancient matriarch Givren Al-sool, an war mage without peer.
Verberan Githyanki
The Gith of Kal'Trad: The city of Kal’Trad acts as the gith presence within the Aesthrumm Confederacy. A city of advancement, the gith that live here are well known for being competitive and focused. The current ruler, Janara, is an excellent example of this. An orphan, she worked herself out of her position with help from those around her and now stands at the head of the city’s government where she is widely respected, being seen as fair and just. This is mostly shown in assisting the gith in their personal quests to become the best at a specific thing. One example of this is a group of gith that have been tending to the forested areas of the city and creating beautiful gardens and orchards throughout. Unfortunately this assistance in personal quests has one flaw: only the gith interested in personal improvement benefit. Because of this, a large amount of the populace have succumbed to decadence, which has helped in the city’s renown as a center for those wanting to have a fun time.
