The Gray

In the first year of the Great Veiling the Archfae Mathoraz and his kin prepared a devious ritual meant to trap the Gods in Elsyina for just one day so that the Fae could sow unchecked mahem from sunrise to moonset. But Moathoraz underestimated the power of his ritual and even with the help of his siblings, he lost control of his spell. The magic he had summoned morphed and grew as wild magic condensed around it before expanding outwards at an incredible rate. The  now wild magic created a wall, an invisible wall encircling all of the realm of Requiem. A powerful veil that drained the power of all the immortals, including Mathoraz. However the effects of the spell were not imidate and it took seven years before the veil finally forced the immortals all to return to their natural domains. Although the gods have found many loopholes that allow them passage into Reqieum the great veil forever prevents the immortals from bringing their full power to bear in the mortal realm. This great veil exists in realm outside of both space time known simply as The Gray but does not hinder the imortals travel between the other planes such as Hell, and the The Underworld.

Requiem's Kin as the orignal inhabitants of Requiem the Olden Primordial are more deeply connected to the mortal realms than any other creatures in existence and as such the veils of realms do not effect or hinder them in anyway.
