Ctezibond sprawls out over the landscape, reclining far past the natural harbor and sound around which it is built, well into the surrounding countryside. It is a bustling seaport, arguably the greatest port in the eastern world, and a center of trade for its allies and enemies alike. Regardless of what kings and potentates may feel about it, the wealth of the six seas flows through Ctezibond, and its markets are legendary for the exotic goods from all the corners of the world that street vendors hawk in the cities' great markets. Above it looms great, monolithic landmarks- the Phaora, the great lighthouse that beckons sailors to safe port, the ominous necropolis of The House of Waking and Sleeping, The Grand Temple, and, of course, the Imperial Palace, which covers an area the size of a small township, and includes the Thematon and the Senate, as well as the Empress's palatial personal quarters.
Ctezibond, however, is mostly a place where people live, from its slums to its crowded apartments to the villas of the well-to do and the lesser patria, even to the Locatha villages and farmland in the unusually clear harbor.
