Jelikles

The Jelikles are a wandering group of tabaxi, often with a tabby pattern, with thick fur that often gives the impression of astonishing bulk. Outsiders often struggle to make head or tail of their society, as everyone seems to be related to each other, although these relationships don't seem to really add up. They are fairly secretive, alluding to having as many as three different names, an everyday name, a peculiar name and a secret name, which the Jelikle will never share once they discover it. The name Jelikles isn't even their own name for themselves, which they have never deigned to share.
"A name thats effable, ineffable, ephemeral, that's the thing that I think about when I'm not thinking"
  • Raitathetaften, Jelikle tabaxi
  • More catlike than the typical tabaxi, the Jelikles wander at will, sometimes but not always in small family groups between settlements, convening, almost to a cat, irregularly at some location for a moot. These gatherings are intensely secret, and the Jelikles are disinclined to share what goes on within them. It is known that Jelikles believe there is, in fact, only a single tabaxi, and that they are all just different iterations of the same soul at different parts of a broader journey.   The tabaxi are known to have a close, if difficult to understand relationship with the white moon, occasionally looking up at it, soulfully, as if hypnotized. They have never explained this transfixion to an outsider.
