Final Destiny Session XXXVII
General Summary
Juniper Solace heals the party as the Dage Pirates recoup in the forest. The party speaks to a soldier that tells them they've paved the way for them to go through, and that he's retiring after the war. The party advances forward to the eerie castle as they see the king sitting on his throne, noticeably pale and ungroomed. As they inch closer, a man inches from around the throne. They see the leader of Tamashī, Karito before them. He explains to them that he's been puppeteering Drewood for the past couple of months to perpetuate the war, as he taps the king, revealing that his body is lifeless. He elaborates that he wanted to harvest the hatred of the people and that his work here is done. He tells the party that he has captured Rozhn's sister, Coral, and will have her killed by Chromia if they attack him, and if they don't fight him he'll leave but he will torture soldiers while he exits. Harry Steele casts Dispel Magic on Karito's sending stone that he was going to call Chromia. He tells them he won't be the person fighting them as his cloak envelops him and he disappears. Several circles start spinning on the floor to which Harry immediately casts Dispel Magic once again causing them to disappear. As the party starts walking back to the castle entrance two people appear. One is an anxiety-ridden girl wielding a sword, while the other is a woman possessing some of the physical characteristics of a fox. The fox lady introduces herself as Kitsune and the other girl as Korosu Jibun. They start combatting the party when suddenly Korosu says, "I choose to rule for all eternity as the ultimate tyrant. I can induce hatred and strife at my whim, and all will bow down before me while in my kingdom", which causes Ares of The Seven Lost Gods to appear. While this occurs, Kitsune fires a bolt of lightning that pierces through a pillar, hitting Yaogaui Qing and critically wounding Harry. Yao closes the distance between himself and Kitsune as he cuts her down with his greatsword. Kitsune attempts to fly away but Yao cuts him down causing him to fall. Kitsune whispers something into his ear before Yao cuts her down, and she turns into dust. Ares locks into combat with Rozhn as it seems they're evenly matched. Rook starts to get battered by Korosu as Ares takes out Rozhn's left eye. Ares then jumps through the ceiling as Korasu is knocked unconscious. Ares soars back into the castle with a devastating attack knocking Harry unconscious and knocking Ptekal back 60 ft. The ruble starts to crumble on Harry's body nearly killing him before Yao gives him a potion of healing. Rozhn and Rook then team up on Ares. Rozhn slashes his right eye out as Rook cracks his helmet open, revealing that he is truly the Ex-God of Old. He falls to his knees and says they'll rematch in due time, before turning into a red slush and disintegrating. Korosu's body disappears as King Ox, 'Lieutenant General' Nela, and 'Lieutenant Colonel' Raymald Dimroost barge into the room. Ox limps towards the party with his shattered leg as they tell him all that has happened. Everyone gathers their berries as they advance back to Biorno. Ptekal and Harry chose to go to Shouis to visit a star temple. When they return to Biorno, Lathtal Daqorel invites them on her voyage to Green Bit. The party seems mostly disinterested as they read that there has been a gathering of Tamashī in Etin.
