The Conflict
The undead hordes in Sokol were thinned, and more information on their leaders were uncovered in the battles, but ultimately the crusade was halted due to dwindling supplies without having captured any cities.
The world began to forget the people of Sokol, and a new name was given to the region - The Ash. Interest in trying to rid the world of the undead plague dwindled after both crusades made little progress.
Historical Significance
The second Sokol Crusade was lead by Bocraean troops north of the destroyed Sokol, rallied by their King, Brahen Quiroga III. A carefully planned expedition from the beginning, military leaders studied accounts of the first crusade, and trained troops accordingly with the intent of thinning the undead hordes and establishing a foothold in the wasteland.
A well supplied army of 15,000 soldiers left Leminox in 3853 EC, traveling south through the Great Forest towards Sokol. Unfortunately, travel through the Great Forest proved incredibly hazardous, and taxing on the stability of their supply lines.
Over the course of the war, more information was uncovered on the undead leaders and undead activity in the region. After several years battling undead hordes and retreated back to Bocrae without securing a major foothold in the region.
