Dwarf
Basic Information
Anatomy
Short humanoids standing roughly four feet tall, with very broad, dense builds. Their skin varies between various earth tones to pale with rosy cheeks. Dwarven hair is most often dark browns, blacks and reds.
Many dwarven cultures take great pride in their long beards, and some dwarven races have beards on both men and women.
Genetics and Reproduction
Dwarves generally only produce two children over their lives, with more than that often taking a concerted effort. Twins are incredibly rare, and often a dwarf might only gain a sibling years after they have reached adulthood themselves.
Growth Rate & Stages
Dwarves are long lived creatures, often living up to 250 years. They grow at much the same rate as humans, but culturally are considered young until their fifties.
Ecology and Habitats
Dwarves originated from deep underground in mountain complexes, though much of this land has been forfeited to abominations that began to rise from the deep dark several hundred years ago. Most modern dwarves on Aisoa are more familiar with life on plains near mountains rather than in them.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Dwarves have excellent eyesight at nighttime and the dark, thanks to largely having lived their lives in the dark of mountain caverns.
