Elven Calendar
Most mortals on the continent of Aisoa have adopted a common calendar, originally made by the fey gods when the elves first came into existence more than three thousand years ago. Other calendar systems exist, such as the dwarven calendar that marks its time according to the shifting of deep underground plates.
The elven calendar, as it is generally called, functions based off of a ten month year of thirty days each. It aligns better with the seasons and travel of the stars than previous systems, though the complexity of the solar system is difficult to truly capture.
Dates are commonly written as "Xth of Month, Year EC", or often simply the number of days since the beginning of the year, such as "187th of 1000 EC"
0 EC on the elven calendar commemorates the day that the ancient one Qamara created elven species. Prior to that, 'BEC' or 'Before Elven Calendar' is used.
