Ir'amoth
Ir is a demon lord associated with disease, parasites, and pregnancy, and is said to have been created by the demonic prime Vorozol. She is said to be both the cause of unwanted pregnancy, as well as the patron of those seeking children by any means necessary.
Amoth is a demon lord associated with parasites. It is said to have been Ir's first child, and now lives as a part of her body to keep her constantly pregnant and producing additional siblings and children. When depicted, it is usually a leech-like creature wrapped around Ir's body or woven into her flesh.
The two are depicted in a variety of ways, but almost exclusively worshipped as a pair and referred to as Ir'amoth.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
One of the most common divine symbols of Ir'amoth is an engorged leech with a multitude of muddled blue eyes.
Tenets of Faith
Ir'amoth's worshippers celebrate the first signs of pregnancy, which become a yearly holiday for the rest of an individual's life. Those who bear any children may find themselves with many such days throughout their year. The most devout worshippers also observe the dates of conception of Ir'amoth's most powerful children.
The day of a child's birth is both celebrated and mourned, as the holy act of bearing a child has concluded.
Miscarriages, abortions, and use of contraceptives are considered a sin, sometimes punishable by execution or enslavement. To be barren and unable to bear children is seen as a sign of Ir'amoth's disappointment, and requires the afflicted individual to beg for her forgiveness. Only by bearing many children is such a thing forgiven.
Those with a womb are considered holy creatures, and all others expendable. Most cults operate as a strict matriarchy.
