Physical Description

Physical quirks

Kiki's species appears to be unable to make the necessary sounds to speak most terrestrial languages. Instead, they appear to communicate via some kind of telepathy, body language, and pheromones.   They have shown the ability to expel a petrifying gas.

Personal history

Kiki landed in Aswana in early 3949 EC near the Comae Observatory, sent by their people to warn of a danger from space. With no knowledge of the local cultures, languages, Kiki was unable to convince the monks of the observatory to aid them, and was chased away as a monster. Kiki survived through the aid of cultists of Ir'amoth, the demonic lord of disease and parasites.   Determining their mission to be too important, Kiki enlisted the aid of the cultists to take the observatory by force, and begin constructing machines that would help their people arrive and seek refuge on the planet. Requiring a different atmosphere than Nailara allowed, this included introducing toxins to the valley of the observatory and altering the flora nearby.   Adventurers Katarine Laurence, Taboras, and Iles discovered the state of the observatory, and ousted the cultists there. Convinced enough by Kiki's earnestness in stating their mission and willingness to accept punishment for their actions, the adventurers attempted to smooth things over for the alien visitor with the local authorities.   Kiki was arrested by Aswani officials, and the fate of their mission is unclear. They have said that they were sent to the planet alongside six others, whose whereabouts they do not know.

Education

Kiki is incredibly intelligent, and has a wide breadth of knowledge in research and the creation of alchemical and magical devices. However, this knowledge came at a cost - when they first introduced themselves, they only identified themselves asĀ  'researcher', and claimed to have given up memories of their own name and identity in order to make space to remember all of the things they would need to remember for their mission.   The name 'Kiki' was given to them because it is one of the sounds they are capable of making, and it is easy to write with their appendages.
