Empire God Cognitiosis (a.k.a. The All-knowing, The Historian, The Keeper of Secrets)
The Empire God of Knowledge, The All-knowing, The Historian, The Keeper of Secrets. Cognitiosis is the God of Knowledge and he and his followers serve the role of keepers of lore and secrets. Through his and his worshipers lives, one goal stands above all the rest. The gathering and safekeeping of all knowledge, and particularly secrets. He is worshiped through the empire, and while not fully appreciated by the common folk, the learned and the nobles clearly recognize the importance of the libraries. As the empire has grown and time has passed, the records they have of the times before, while rare, are invaluable. However, in the latest year, he and his followers have become more protective of their libraries and especially secrets. It is thought that Cognitiosis holds a much larger power than his few followers would show, because he holds secrets about each of the other gods, and as such demands respect. This is reflected in the position of the Custodis Pansophical, which while small in number and power, holds vast influence as keepers of secrets about the other churches and organisations in The Empire. It is this reality that has lead him to become more accepting of losses in the pursuit of knowledge, valuing his followers as much as the knowledge they have individually acquired.
