Elves
The two different elven cultures were molded by the Elven Deities, Solis and Selene. They created a race in their image, beautiful, long-lasting, and smart. The elves live to 500 years, and they are slow and steady in their progress. They are separated into two main cultures, the Wood Elves and the High Elves . The Wood elves living in harmony in the forests of Ulathian and the High elves living in the Grand Citadel of Selene with their noble houses. Elves that leave their homeland of Ulathian are very few and far between, and they usually have good reasons for venturing into the Empire, as the other humanoid races do not take kindly to outsiders. There also exist the Drow, a traitorous subspecies of elves that fled after their gods left the material plane, betraying their fellow elves in a search for power.
During the Golden Age of Magic the Island of Ulathian was a prosperous land with a lush forest, a capitol city and many flying cities surrounding it. With the placement of the divine seal, the elven kingdom was one of the few places that still have ancient magic, and their gods kept their weakened avatars on the material plane. It all came crashing down however during the Calamity, as the island of Ulathian saw itself the target of a massive attack from the Demons. In the battle, their gods were victorious but the price was steep, as they had to leave the material plane, and with them the magic that kept their cities in the air stopped as well, with millions dying, even in the islands that were repelling the invaders. Those cities all fell from the sky, and most of the magic surrounding the magical island was lost. That was the day when the Elven Empire fell, and now, protected by the magic of Selene and Solis, the elves live lives cut off from the rest of the world, very much unaware of things that are going on. Lately that has been changing though, and elvenkind has been shifting more outwardly, with more and more elves leaving their homeland to chase glory and power.
