Undercity of Hrothi

The undercity of Hrothi was built upon the backs of the slaves and drow who carved the buildings out of stone, and created it. It took hundreds of years to make, and many lost their lives in its creation. However, the city now stands underground, a perfect haven for drow to live, away from the sun and hidden from the lesser races. Drow only venture out of the city for raids every few years, to hunt in the underdark in hopes of showing off their skill or capturing/killing some rare creature. The city houses around a thousand drow, and as many slaves. While relatively small by Empire standards, drow live for much longer, and they do not grow in numbers as easily as other races.

There is only one tunnel that leads directly from the city to the surface, it is hidden magically and guarded by some of the best guards of the Hrothi family. The tunnel is used by drow that have gone to the surface for some reason and need to return.

Bellow the city is a very large underground temple to an unknown deity. At the beginning the drow tried to find their purpose there, but as they established themselves more in the main city, and started raiding and forming their own culture, they stopped trying to uncover the secrets of the past, and a not-small part of the temple still remains unexplored.

Making up Den Hrothi are a number of drow families, the Hrothi family is the most powerful, following are the 4 other most powerful families whose matrons make up the Council of Matrons and rule the city.
