Trautenan
A small barbaric settlement deep within what's left of The Great Forest on the very edge of Talabecland.
They used to have great connections to the neighboring towns of Sylvania but ever since the region was essentially quarantined they lost all contact.
The Trautenan tribe is mostly known for producing strong and capable barbarian warriors. The town is therefore also home to a lot of warriors who often tell stories of their adventures during long nights at the local inn.
It is fairly common for these barbarians to tribal tattoes covering their bodies. They are born with these and it's considered a physical sign of their connection to their god Lugh but also something that connects them to their soul beast. Soul beasts are usually gained when a young warrior has seen his 18th Winter. The following spring the warrior will be send out into the woods in search of their soul beast. The beast will come to them once they've earned the respect of the nature surrounding them.
Upon the death of a warrior it is also very common that their soul beast will die with them. The warrior is then burned with his belongins and the ashes are spread in the forest, this is done with the believe that this allows the soul of the warrior to become part of the forest/nature.

Defences
There are no military defenses in this town and neither are they needed since the strong and stubborn folk that live here will defend their homes with their lives.
Industry & Trade
The settlement itself is well known for the wood and woodwork they produce. (As some of the older barbarians have taken a liking to woodwork.) and also for their sellswords and overall warriors as many younglings are automatically trained for battle.
