Personal history

A sheltered member of the royal House Highwind of Arcreach, Princess Cerillian is a fleeting figure. She is almost never seen in the court, and some swear that the chances of meeting her are as rare as meeting some of the most fearsome beasts in the wild.
Cerillian was born 79 years prior to Heavensfall, where she spent much of her life in the capital. Though little was preserved of Murian history prior to Heavensfall, it was known that she was interested in Arcreach politics - often seen accompanying her father, Lord Cain, in his council gatherings. Following Heavensfall, she was active in directing the research efforts focusing on the Midnight Star, but it was known that she - much like the rest of her family - grieved for the great loss of life. But she embarked upon the ill-advised expedition into the Northern Reaches, where she alongside her brother Cirran, Izeran Representative Mair, church representatives and Arcanery researchers stumbled upon something clearly traumatic; none who returned from the expedition would speak about what happened - or what was found. Though this event would change many who participated in it, the expedition influenced Cerillian greatly. 
Now, Cerillian spents the vast majority of her life within the citadel quietly. Conversations are fleeting, and barely lasts more than a sentence or two, before she would stare off. Her slumbers last days, seemingly unaffected by hunger or thirst. And those who have had meaningful conversations with her could swear that whatever happened to her changed her fundamentally as if she was no longer rooted in reality.

Mental Trauma

Since Heavensfall, things have never been the same among the Highwind family. Leandre, a broken shell of his former self, worked tirelessly to strike back against the Midnight Star - however futile it may be. Cirran, a generational prodigy, became embroiled within Arcreach politics at an age too young. And Lord Cain, with the weight of the world on his shoulders, returned to pick up the broken remnants of Leandre's rule. But it was the ill-advised expedition to a fringe research camp that fully resulted in the fracturing of the Highwind family.
Afterwards, Cerillian grew to be distant. Much like a hermit, she rarely left her room. Her servants accompany her daily, but she would only speak single phrases at a time. Many have been called to speak with Cerillian - to gauge her thoughts, feelings and maybe traumas - but those who spoke with her left haunted by the experience without saying why. Her presence in the citadel was fleeting; it was as if meeting her is akin to meeting a ghost.

Intellectual Characteristics

As there are none who have ever managed to hold a lengthy conversation with her beyond her family and servants, no one knows how she really thinks about the world around her. Even the servants who have left their post describe speaking with her as speaking with a wall, where responses are far and few in between.

Morality & Philosophy

Just as it is difficult to gauge her thoughts, it is unclear how she views morality or philosophy. Her closest servants describe her as kind but distant, even naive. Others describe her as rather cold and standoffish. However, her closest confidants have heard her apparent disappointment with the world - whatever that conveys about her.
