Tiefling
Tieflings, otherwise known as "Devils of the Quaan", or simply "Demon-folk" were humanoid based creatures that lived upon @Naneth and within The Underblaze. Either descended straight for the Nine Hells, or born above in the mortal plane, Tieflings were one of the most intelligent races on Naneth, and occupied a spot with the higher races pantheon. They were renowned for their personal cunning and alluring presence, making them excellent tricksters and charismatic leaders.
Description
Tieflings were a regular sized races of creatures, comparable in size to humans and elves. They stood, on average, about 5'8" - 6'5" and weighed around 150-250lbs. The most common Tieflings displayed shades of red or purple skin, while the more rare Pure-Bloods often displayed tones of greater contrast, such as black, dark red or purple. Almost all Tieflings sported horns atop their head, surrounded with black, silver, or white hair, making them quite spectacular to behold. They were also one of the three higher races on Naneth that displayed a tail, the others being Dragonborn and Tabaxi. Tieflings tend to have an unsettling air surrounding them, being ex-demons of the Underblaze. Though many are well-tempered and are many generations removed from their darker ancestry, many other races still dwell upon that fact, and are generally distrustful of Tieflings. This may be for good reason, as large percentages of Tiefling still live within The Quaan Empire, serving the lords of The Underblaze Tielfings have a lifespan of around 125 years, although many live up past 150 if healthy. However, Tieflings that live within The Underblaze are immortal while they remain in the that plane of existence. Because of this, most Pure-Bloods tend to live longer, as they'll have already spent 100+ years within the Nine Hells, before ascending to Naneth and beginning the aging process.Subraces
Pure-Blood: This subrace of Tiefling refers the individuals that half ascended directly from The Underblaze, or have become offspring of Pure-Blood parents. The majority of Pure-Bloods live within The Quaan Empire, where the great houses of the Demon-Folk stand. Here the other races of Naneth have become as pets, with Tiefling houses typically keeping humans and elves as slaves. Pure-Bloods often see themselves as elite or above the other creatures of Naneth. Half-Blood: These Tieflings are much more common throughout the other regions of Naneth. They are individuals that have come from cross breeding with other races, and are seen as equal citizens in regions like Astora and Meridian. Regardless of the race they bred with, the offspring will always be more Tielfing than not, as the genes of that race are overpowering to others. This type of Tiefling is not welcome within The Quaan Empire, and Pure-Bloods often see them as weak and pathetic creatures.Society
The culture of a Tiefling depended directly on whether they were Pure-Blood or otherwise. Half-Blood Tieflings usually displayed no signs of a particular culture or way of life, as an offspring of two separate races. Seen by some as distrustful, Half-Bloods were often ashamed of their demonic heritage, regardless of how far removed they were from it. Though many places accepted Half-Blood Tielfings as citizens, the only exception being Atmora. However, as a generalization about Tieflings, they were almost always interested and proficient with magical and darker arts, regardless of their family ties or subrace. Pure-Blood Tieflings on the other hand, displayed strong culture. They often existed within great houses of The Quaan Empire, generations of family members in enormous estates of obsidian and glass. These Tieflings believed themselves superior to other creatures on Naneth, often keeping other specimens as slaves or toys to enjoy. Because of their location within the Quaan Empire, it was supposed that these houses all followed the teachings of The Dead Three, but this was not always the case. Some houses turned away from these gods, believing them weak, as they had been trapped within the Nine Hells. So great were these houses, that the heads of the families would usually be a member of great importance within the Empire, usually a general of armies, or a famous slave dealer.History
Tieflings are the only race upon Naneth that were not created by The Eres. As such, it is difficult to say when exactly they came into being, as they originated from The Underblaze, a separate plane of existence from Naneth. During the Age of Creation, Tieflings were not present, and would not be until after The Dead Three's banishment to The Underblaze. During the Age of Fire, Tieflings began to populate the southern region of Naneth known as The Red Wastes. They ascended from The Underblaze, sent by The Dead Three to plague the lands of Naneth, to bring death and destruction to the creatures above. During the War of Fire, Tielfings joined with Tiamat's dark army in the subjugation of humans and the other races of Naneth. During the war of Orphans Peak, Tieflings took part in the major slaughter of humans, elves and dwarves, before Tiamat was defeated and Naneth was plunged into the dark of the Age of Mists. It is unknown how Tieflings survived the Age of Mists, and perhaps the majority of them simply died out, with new individuals arising after the mists had cleared. Regardless, Tieflings are now fairly commonplace in the Age of Renewal. Most have integrated well with the wider world, now being centuries removed from the dark days of the Age of Fire. However, many Tieflings still remain within the modern day The Quaan Empire, honing their dark arts and training legions of evil creatures, awaiting the commands of the The Dead Three.
