Under the governance of a monarchy, this city is presided over by King Devlin Zohar. The king and their family reside within the confines of the Emerald Castle nestled within the city. The noble family's enduring reign has left an indelible mark on the city's history and shaped its destiny throughout the ages.History
In 1792, Ostburn was established as a settlement centered around a vital toll road that linked the northeastern region of Rayas with the broader continent. As trade and travel flourished along this route, the village swiftly expanded, leveraging the income generated from toll collections. The steady stream of revenue propelled Ostburn's growth, transforming it from a modest village into a thriving and prosperous town. Ostburn rapidly transitioned into a city, although one lacking a cohesive urban layout or structured goverment. The region surrounding the city became a frequent battleground, with conflicts revolving around the city and its vital toll roads. Tragically, in 2035, the city suffered near-complete destruction. Despite this, remnants of the older architecture still linger, serving as poignant reminders of Ostburn's past and offering glimpses into its architectural heritage scattered throughout the city.Trade
Ostburn maintains amicable trade relationships with neighboring regions, although it has a history of assertiveness in expanding its borders through occasional minor conflicts. While there have been no major territorial ambitions in the past few centuries, King Devlin has displayed a keen interest in expansion since ascending the throne. The Dractonian Empire heavily relies on the city's trade routes as they provide the most convenient and secure means of transporting goods. The sometimes hefty tolls to transport goods through the city remain to this day.Culture
