Redtooth Raiders

General Description

A nomadic pirate faction operating in The Aardragoon Islands that are known for their especially brutal tactics and methodologies. Even some of the toughest warriors flee from a sighting or even a whisper of the Redtooth Raiders.

History

The older history of the raiders is not well known but they are assumed to have been in operation at their current capacity for several centuries. What is more well known is their preference for frequently travelling around the islands, taking what they want and moving on leaving a trail of destruction and casualties behind them.
It is thought that over half of all injuries and deaths on and around the islands are caused by the Redtooth Raiders. Their incursions into other settlements are uncommon but not unheard of, while most occur along trade routes as they attempt to pick off the underprepared or lost.

Methods

Their favoured weapons include bolt throwers and battleaxes, not afraid to utilise any tactic that gains them the advantage or upper hand. When they want to instil fear they construct flags stained with blood and decorated with body parts of their victims, these images are what come to mind when people think of the raiders.
If they are attacking a settlement or fortification, a signature ingredient of warfare is fire. You will find many scorched villages and ruins across the islands indicating their presence in the area.
