Tortle

Tortles are a reptilian looking humanoid race with large shells on their backs, capable of containing their entire body. They have leathery skin varying in colours from greens, greys and browns although rarely some take on much darker hues, with their shells being slightly darker than their skin.
They rarely wear clothing and instead favour harnesses, belts and bags to store their belongings. Tortles have little tolerance for cold weather and favour temperate and warmer climates. They are poor swimmers but their physique allows them to float on water and even hold their breath for around an hour at a time.

Origin

The legends state that a long time ago, a magical force bestowed the power of growth and increased intelligence to an array of animals, eventually evolving into larger and often more humanoid shaped creatures.

History

Tortles are a rarity in the grand scheme of things, however the only place they are commonly found is around Syre Beach and the Dalmur Forest bordering it. The climate and weather conditions here are perfectly suited for the tortles to lay their eggs and they remain close by to guard and protect them from predators.
