Mana Core (Maa-Naa)
The revolutionary new arcane engine that has revolutionized Dwarven society in the past century. Unlike previous attempts at arcane engines, Mana Cores can produce the equivalent of an entire group of Wizards combined arcane might every minute.
The engines are calculated to last for centuries or even millennia under light stress. When used in the various Iron Transports of Volhammer, the energy demands shorten that lifespan to one or more centuries. The larger the strain, the shorter the lifespan.
If the core sustains damage, however, it can set off a chain reaction that can culminate in an explosion of arcane energy with unpredictable results.
