Hood of the Sidewinder

Legend

Stories have it that this beautiful hood originally adorned the head of Thabaci, but out of love, she gifted it to one of her most devout followers, Kelgren during the The Era of Tranquility. Her only request was that when he had no further need of it, he return it to her temples to inspire others of the faith. This he gladly vowed.     The hood allowed Kelgren to remain safe and to survive a terrible war, and to become a great leader of her faith. However at the very end of his life, Kelgren was betrayed by his brother,     Wreldred. Kelgren lay dying of a ravenous fever and he instructed his brother to take the hood and return it to the temple of Thabaci as promised. But Wreldred's love for his brother was overcome by his greed, and he stole the hood, selling it to a powerful mage who was able to shield it from scrying and other forms of divine/arcane seeing. The current location of the hood is unknown, though many counterfeits have been created over the years, by confolk hoping to gain a reward from the temples.

Appearance

The hood is a soft velvety dark green, and dozens of tiny sapphires have been sewn into serpentine patterns across it.

Properties

The hood requires anyone attacking the wearer to make a wisdom saving through (DC15). On a fail, they cannot attack the wearer, but may redirect the attack elsewhere if they wish. This property of the hood can be used three times per long rest.   The wearer has advantage on dexterity saving throws from directed attacks and spells while wearing it. (This does not apply to area-of-effect spells, lair actions, etc.)
