Thabaci ([θa:.ba.ki])
Serpent Goddess
Thabaci is a deity of Transformation and Magic. She gifts her most devout followers with the ability to change shape, cast powerful illusion magics, resist poison, and even attain a form like her own. Some see her as an evil deity, who sends her serpent servants to bring death to those who don't serve her. Others see her as a kind benefactor, who wants to grant the faithful transformations that will bring them closer to her. Mostly, Thabaci appears to be a neutral deity, who does not exert great energy to either reward or punish mortals, unless strong efforts are made to please or anger her. Thabaci does encourage her followers to delve into the mysteries of the Arcane, the magics that can enable them to change the nature of reality itself. She has been known to reward those who make fresh discoveries, or perform new experiments in order to advance the field of magic.Thabaci is known to reside in a huge gold and silver tower known as The Tower of a Thousand Coils. Only her most devout followers are permitted entrance, and no mortal is known to have the location of the exact plane the tower exists on, as usually the portal is opened by Thabaci herself. Those who visit her either return transformed, with only broken memories of what happened, or they do not return at all, and their fates remain unknown.
