Kataran Bearswift

Kataran was a half orc and a citizen of Gwaith Coed. She was a talented artist, and as her new village began to prosper and she had time, she began to paint beautiful works of the forest around her, particularly the insect life there. In particular, Lynna Butterflies appeared in her work, and she used to conceal little messages in the patterns of their wings, an idea that was later taken up by magic users in times of conflict. As they developed better trading partners, she sent some of her work to town with trade goods, and it drew the attention of a collector, Del Rassom, who was fascinated by her perspective and focus. He bought a number of her pieces, and this led to her work becoming well-known in the region. Students began to travel to her and request apprenticeships, and she enjoyed a modestly successful teaching career, and improved the reputation of her village.
