In 11 SC, residents of the Heartlands have successfully restored the Nerys River to its former course, and they celebrate their first successful harvest. As agreed, the fruit shipments from the feywild end. However the residents of the heartlands find that other food tastes ashen and fails and satisfy, and they begin to grow ill again. Wren Barrowright embarks through the tree portal to the Feywild to request more fruit, along with two other residents, and all fail to return. However a servant is eventually sent through, and after several weeks, Lord Kestrin agrees to resume the fruit shipments, if the heartlands agree to send him a new servant each year at midsummer, for as long as he deems fit. The residents aren't happy about the deal proposed, but finally agree out of desperation. The fruit shipments resume.
