This tropical planetoid is almost completely covered by a dense inhospitable jungle consisting of multiple layers. The orbit of Vangoiphus around Malfaos causes tidal friction which heats up the planetoid and causes a lot of geological activity. Consequently, temperatures during the day can peak at 60C and rarely drop below 20C, even at night. Nearly all of the 5 million inhabitants live in a single large city (Vangopolis) located near the north pole and the surrounding highlands where temperatures are less extreme and the aggressive plant growth is slightly less. Most of the population is not very wealthy, carving out an existence on the periphery of the city. Main trades include exotic fruits, meats, hides and lumber but mostly in small volumes as few entrepreneurs stray far from the safety the city. There is also a small but exclusive tourism sector, mainly specialising in jungle safaris and hunting trips for the very wealthy. Persistent rumors of ancient ruins beneath the jungle have only served increase interest.
