Aether

Energy in Neoria is known in many different ways: as Ki by martial arts practioners, as Tao by Hinokian warriors... However, those who got ahold of it first, the primordials, called it Aether. Though, they might call it differently, all users agrees on something, energy exists, flows and can be channeled through the body.

Aether resides in all living beings and in every part of the planes. It is what shapes the entire cosmos and holds everything in place. Those who learn to wield it to it's core can even achieve immortality and all kinds of abilities considered to be unnatural.

Manifestation

For the vast majority of people, Aether is invisible. However, there are exceptions. Those who are born in close connection to the weave of Aether are more sensible to it and can see it as a result. This creatures are usually ancient beasts, like dragons or those who are born from their unions.

There are reports of people suffering from Aether Pox that are able to perceive Aether particles in the air and, on even rarer cases, see them.

Unlike this select few groups mentioned before, others need to train their bodies and minds in order to connect with the Aether in the air. There are many ways of making the Aether in the air flow through you.

Wizards usually use a device or components with high concentrations of Aether. They also study to open their bodies' circuits and allow the magic to go through them.

On the other hand, martial artists train their minds to be able to bend the Aether in the air and in others people's bodies to their will. They don't develop their inner circuit as much.

Users who are druidic in nature use a mixture of both of the above. They open their circuits through long sessions of communion with nature and learn to bend the enviroment surrounding them to their beck and call.

There are also those who channel Aether by borrowing the ability to do so from beings with far more experience. Deities are most people's choices, though there are those who turn to more obscure beings.
