Sneugle

The Sneugle is the aerial line of defense of the Empire. They are also known as the silver griffons because of their mounts. They are trained griffon riders that defend the skies of the Empire. They are commanded by Lady Eira White, elven paladin beholden to the All-Mother.

The Sneugle is the smallest formation of the empire with only 5000 soldiers on their midst.

Equipment

The soldiers are equipped with light armors and they are given saddles and saddlebags.

Weaponry

Trained in the usage of bows and crossbows, soldiers of the Sneugle inflict severe damage from a distance. Some of then are trained in arcana and land devastating blows while on top of their loyal gryphons.

Vehicles

Soldiers of the Sneugle are assigned a newborn gryphon when they join the corps. On their first years they care for their gryphons. After three years, when the gryphons reach their adulthood, they become fully fledged members of the Sneugle.

Training

Aside from the basic guard training, soldiers from the Sneugle are taught how to ride on horseback while their gryphons are still young. Once their gryphons mature, they train their flight skills and aerial attacks.

Recruitment

The Sneugle is the second most elite formation of the empire, bested only by the royal guard. As such the requirements to land a place are quite steep. You have to have spent at least five years in the Sølv Vildnis and have previous experience at horseback riding. However, the most difficult requirement is that an elder gryphon has to acknowledge you as a worthy rider.
