Avvar-Kunrud
The Avvar-Kunrud are a seafaring culture which encompasses the north-eastern shore of the continent and the majority of the eastern island. Historically nomadic and found in many places besides their homelands, they occupy a large chunk of both the eastern continent and the island. Valuing strength and physical attributes as both a beauty standard and an indication that someone is suited to the travelling lifestyle, they are most notably recognised by their tanned and dark skin, larger natural physical build and dark hair worn typically in braids and updos to keep it out of the face.

Coming of Age Rites
When a child comes of age they are sent on a pilgrimage, called their Lu'ia, to discover their place in the world. Usually this comes in the form of important knowledge or new land and technology to bring home, but for some it is a discovery of self, of identity, and of their personal ambitions. A Lu'ia has no time limit, often taking years for a child to return home. When they embark on this journey they are given an intricately woven twine bracelet representative of the protection of the elements as they embark.
