Mareen is a coastal city and the capital of Orralia, first founded as a shanty town circa 200 N.A.
Districts
Mareen is split into seven districts: Marketplace, Docklands, Oldtown, Outer Marenia, the Warehouse District, Hightown and the Traveller's District.Marketplace
The Marketplace is the westernmost district of Mareen, containing a large market square surrounded by shops and stalls of varying sizes.Docklands
The Docklands contain the shipyard for travel and trade to other coastal countries and a riverside tourist section.Oldtown
Oldtown, as the name suggests, is the oldest residential district of Mareen, containing the majority of the population and a large number of older Myriad churches.Outer Marenia
Bordering the southwestern edge of town, Outer Marenia is home to educational and commercial resources such as the major schoolhouses and places of trade with other cities via land (post offices, delivery warehouses etc).Warehouse District
A small district west of the Docklands, the Warehouse District is home to storage for all resources which are to either remain within the town or be shipped to other lands.Hightown
One of the newest districts in Mareen, Hightown is home to rich settlers and affluent merchants. The town hall and council houses are found there, as are attractions for affluent tourists.Traveller's District
Originally constructed for docks and inns to house an increasing number of tourists and travellers coming in and out of Mareen via the docks, this district has since expanded to include more permanent fixtures such as the city's major hospital and mental health facilities.Infrastructure
- Large, open air dining courtyard on a raised platform by the docks, surrounded by several dozen restaurants, bars/alehouses and inns. Ropes crisscross the space above the courtyard, with colourful long flags hanging from them
