Gimmela
Gimmela has the most direct link to divinity of any of the major political powers, having been united under the then-mortal Gimmel at the time of The Scribing from what was once the Highwater Territories. A parliamentary democracy unites a culture that rewards all manner of innovative skills, whether they are innovations in divinity, arcana, academia, or engineering.
Gimmela boasts some of the most cosmopolitan cities on the planet. However, social relations hinge on a meritocratic set of systems that reinforce a wider disparity in standard of living than one might expect from what is arguably the most technologically advanced state in the world.
Nevertheless, Gimmelan scholars and historians are welcome visitors in most of the other organized states on the planet. They occasionally act as diplomats and peacemakers, but more often function as observers and chroniclers.
They do not have any hard holdings on Breaksky Island; instead, the scholars of Gimmela will embed themselves within the settlements of other nations so that they may keep the ongoing history of the explorations.
