The Mines of Scourge - 11/20/22

General Summary

Mor takes the lead into a small winding passage off of the mainsection just inside the entrance of the Scourge mine. Spying one of the hated Phaerimm, he charges forward, to be quickly stunned for the first rounds of the battle

The last Phaerimm in the side tunnels makes a run for safety. Rashi summons the tentacles which attack and kill the fleeting abomination

A creavase with a broken rope bridge block the party's progress, with three mind flayer arcanists on the other side to harrase our heroes. Mor throws a Bead of Force, trapping 2 of the illithid. The party then pushes and heaves the trapped creatures into the depths

After crossing the crevasse, two Nether Golem are found in an area of crumbled ruins within the next cavern. The metal creatures are torturing a sharn. Battle ensues, Rashi and Mor both go large. Thadgrack caste Spirit Guardians which attack two of the creatures

The Sharn Shimmershadow, who was the creature being tortured chained to the cavern wall, speaks:

Hello, people of the Nether cohort Quickly, we must go to the aid of my pod, er my brothers you might say We are fighting against the abominations The hated Phaerimm In this we must friend...er ally We have much to discuss Much information that we must share with the Nether cohort But first we must aid, must destroy this nest

Each of us is the result of the union of multiple adepts of the magical arts melded into one (Hesitates a moment seeming to talk to itself) Forgive us, sometimes it is difficult to communicate with the single minded

In ancient days we created our being to destroy the threat that were the abomination The Phaerimm We were successful in our day And the Phaerimm were driven deep within the Underdark And they were silent

But the Phaerimm have been awakened They have crept past us while we slept The great magics of your empire... this is hard to convey They, "hurt" the Phaerrim the Phaerimm hate the magic of your Empire And have determined to destroy it And all human...humanoid what you say? And create a world for themselves

We are old and many of us are gone but we are determined to sacrifice all To finish what we began so many years ago To stop the Phaerimm from destroying the world and creating a horrible replacement

Your people have been taken, along with our leader Who is Skulking and Death but not by the abominations by the minions of one of yours Kaarrrsus to a floating citadel in the North I can lead you We must to rescue Skulking and Death They will speak for the sharn And enter into a cohort melding how would we say...an alliance We will assist you to bring home your cohort collective

Along with the Sharn Shimmershadow, our protagonists enater a large cavern, where several sharn are already in battle with Phaerimm Foot Soldiers and Magi. None hesitate to jump into the fray. In the chaos, Lando takes a moment to scream a cry of frustration involving the offspring of a prostitute as he initially has little success against these foes

After the battle, all realize that they have seen no Phaerimm Queen. There is but one passage leaving this cavern. A quick glance through this small entrance reveals three floating spheres barely visible. As one of the spheres moves forward, a huge eye and myriad eyes on stalks like snakes become clear...
