In the northern hemisphere of Neverine lie the continents known as The Dawn Rift. It has been 5435 years since the Fall, a cataclysmic event that reshaped the land and destroyed vast numbers of people and civilized races. This has been the second cataclysmic event in known records, the first happening approximately six to seven thousand years before that.   In this Third Age, the peoples and lands of Dawn Rift are filled with magic and mystical creatures. Even the most uneducated of peoples has the ability to cast cantrip level magics. Thus, magic is used for many everyday tasks. Despite having lost much of the knowledge of the past during the Fall, much has been recovered and these new magics and magical technology are advancing at a rapid pace. An average city in the Dawn Rift is filled with happy people, prosperity, magical mechanized constructs, flying airships, and wonder. However, outside the cities and towns is another matter. Much of the wilds have been unexplored due to the danger of the creatures that reside in the mountains, forests, and swamps. Travel by foot between cities can be quite dangerous. Thus most cities reside on the coast or are accessed via airship.   While the nations of The Dawn Rift are currently at peace, conflict is brewing. As technology advances, populations increase, each city is looking to the resources of their neighbor. More importantly, a magic crystalline substance has been discovered that holds very unusual properties. This could be a new source of energy for the people of Neverine but will it be used for good or evil?
