New Chasseron

Three thousand years have passed since the ending of the Erathian Era when the presence of the gods was last felt in the lands of Chasseron. As the years passed, the strength of magic waned and a world once teeming with magical power now relies on the ingenuity and creativity of its inhabitants to progress. In the three thousand years since the fall of the Requilian Empire, nations have risen to greatness and fallen to dust, religions have begun and been lost to memory, and the knowledge of magic has fallen to a rarity. Many cultures of the world have a deep resentment for magic and a distrust for all who practice it, yet in others magic is considered a luxury, learned by the elite with enough resources to hunt down lost magical artifacts and hire instruction in what little knowledge remains. As the strength of magic waned, the mortal races learned to innovate without the crutch of the arcane. In recent years, advances in navigation and sailing fostered an explosion of exploration pouring out of Halorian and Aldera. Previously inaccessible continents and island chains were discovered leading to a mass exodus by adventurers around the world.
