Zoe Morgan
The only thing Zoe knows about her father is that he is a black man in Chicago. Zoe lives with her grandmother, an old white woman whose racism is thinly veiled. Zoe's mother disappeared twelve years ago, after she got clean...again...at the Gateway Center in Chicago. She seemed fine but then went chasing this unknown high, again.
To cope, Zoe turned to religion but hated the waves of pity poured on her by church congregations. She instead went Wiccan with a strong bent toward Voodoo, creating her own system of magical expression. The weirdest thing is that it actually works. Sometimes.
