San Gabriel

San Gabriel is the central city of the supernatural world. It sits on the northern coastline of Michigan's lower peninsula. The city itself is large, with an estimated population around 10 million and a great deal of commerce passing through lake michigan. It is a crossroads both economically and culturally.

What most don't realize is that San Gabriel is also one of the central world hubs for supernatural society. The energies surrounding the city make it almost magnetic to supernatural beings and creatures, making it not only a hot spot for activity, but the defacto center of supernatural society in North America. It is the seat of the Council of Magi and the home of the Covenant of Hohman, the only order within the council native to the region. All the Houses of Blood have a presence within the city, many courts of Faerie hold an embassy in the city, and it is home to one of the most powerful living elementals in the world today, Dyvanius "the dragon."

A treaty has stood between the great powers of the supernatural world to treat San Gabriel as neutral territory since the late 1800's with little open challenge, making the city a refuge for the unrepresented supernatural beings of the world as well as those who for whatever reasons are unwelcome among their own people elsewhere. It is the only place in the world where the population of Morloks has grown enough to have an impact on the sociopolitical landscape of the city. Likewise shapechangers and beastkin, two groups which hold no seat on the council, are enough of a presence that their needs cannot be fully ignored by the powerful, though many on the council still seek to act as though they can.

Unfortunately, while San Gabriel remains a safe haven for many supernaturals who would suffer terribly elsewhere this has only drawn the ire of those who would see them left to their dooms. Only time can say what will come of this crossroads.
