The Church of Lantern Hill
The church of Lantern Hill is referred to as just that: The Church of Lantern Hill. The church is so massive in its size, so monumental in its influence, that it would be a fool's errand--unthinkable, even--to build an alternate faith body of another denomination at the risk of damaging one's position in society.
Structure
The Priest is the highest authority of the church under the faith itself. Bishops, deacons, and nuns are under him. There are smaller positions, both paid and volunteer, and then there are the regular churchgoers, which consists of the rest of the populace.
Public Agenda
The church's ultimate goal is to strengthen the public's faith and etiquette in order to mold Lantern Hill, and Newfoundland in extension, so that the land can be revered as a theocratic utopia on Earth. As Lantern Hill is the biggest settlement in Newfoundland by far, their efforts set the precedent for faith in the continent, so the stakes are high, and some individuals of the church, including the priest, are willing to do whatever they deem necessary to achieve their goals.
Assets
The church is elaborately decorated for a reason; that is because the church receives a large amount of silver and gold in the form of offerings. The church is also equipped with highly trained security guards who roam the sprawling church corridors at night, their eyes peeled for citizens who are searching for the truth. The church also has many connections; the priest is in direct correlation with the town wizard, and the church has the power to send many citizens into a riot with only a few words and images.
History
The priest set the theocracy in motion as soon the church was built in the middle of the town. It has been that way ever since.
