III. The Guiding Wings

The Guiding Wings is essentially a colossal map. The interior of the several mile wide crystalline structure is largely hollow, forming a vast chamber within the massive structure. The inner chamber houses a small floating platform in the center. Accessing the platform activates the Relic, displaying a detailed and dynamic holographic projection of the universe and the location of anything the user wishes to find.
The Wings were responsible for the extinction event on Earth 66 million years ago. What was thought to be an asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs was actually this Relic crashing into the surface of the planet. It lays dormant, buried deep under the ocean in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Carnax located Earth when one of their scouting drones returned images of blue skies, fulfilling the prophecy that knowledge would be “within an azure gemstone of salt and strife”. This was in 1947 outside of a small town called Roswell, New Mexico.
